I have just returned from spending the past few weeks with my family at our summer home. Our days there are passed in glorious slovenly fashion...we sit, we eat, the adults drink, we eat some more, and sometimes (if we're feeling adventurous) we swim. This goes on for several days on repeat. It is a time of laughter, of bickering, of games, and of nostalgia...especially bickering.
I have spent every summer of my life in the halls of this house, in the waters of the river, and it has  become a part of me.
I am a strong believer in slowing life down so that you can appreciate how fast it really goes. We all need places where we can accomplish this, and for me it is in the curious halls of Chicahominy house.
